We’ve waited 3 long months for it. The return to glorious weather, braai’s, kids playing in the pool all afternoon and most of all: this positive rebirth that’s happening in our country. It’s becoming a Spring of a different kind. 2024 has something heavily stacked behind it.

Big business seems to have come out of hibernation; and now the country and it’s economy can hopefully function fully again. (Why is it that the Winter makes people grumpy and ‘cold’, scared and hesitant. So many people were hidden away in fear over the middle of this year). All indications, with a few tweaks required, are outwardly positive.

Some things in our country have woken up too. After 30 long years we have a sniff of positive change in our Government. With sweet smells coming from the G.N.U - we hope that this is lasting change – or at least the spark of something beautiful to come for our children and grand-children.

We can’t deny that our faithful Springboks never let us down. The men in green and gold are still going – they’re flying above the rest – to provide unity amongst our people. Man oh man, we’re loving rugby Saturdays!

And of course, how can we forget Dricus, our Olympians and Paralympians. These stars have fought tooth and nail to get to where they are with out much support and funding from their country; and they’ve done it to prove to the rest of us that any of us can climb out of our history. We hope the new government brings changes to the future of sports for these hero’s too.

There is a sense of positive rebirth. As the flowers grow, we are hoping to see unity grow. As the ashes nourish the ground, we hope that the pain of the past becomes nothing but learning that nourishes and grows into a platform for something wonderful for every person in this country.
