Is your health at High-Risk?
Posted in Wellness on Jun 01, 2023
We have all been handed a legacy of some sort by our parents and grandparents. Physically, it is what we look like, how tall we are and what colour eyes we have as well as other good and bad health traits. Being aware of congenital conditions such as high blood pressure, or a family propensity for obesity for example, or if there is a history of a certain kind of cancer, means we can take preventative measures to manage these conditions.
Taking a holistic view of both our physical and mental health is critical in forming a strong basis on which to build a family’s well-being. We cannot function as parents, siblings and children if we are not mentally and physically fit for purpose. Even if our genes are with us to stay, we owe it to ourselves and to future generations to be as healthy as possible today. We can take measures to avoid handing down physical and emotional baggage which can be dealt with by taking good care of ourselves in this life.
No one wants ‘high risk’ to be the physical legacy we leave behind, so consult your health advisor now …
